The 35th edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race attracted 120 yachts - 20 more than last year. The first few days were calm with weak winds, testing sailors' patience and ability to stay focused. But then the wind returned with double strength. The crews had to contend with gale force winds of 60 knots and huge waves, there were many cases of breakdowns, many were forced to take shelter in the Sicilian ports. As a result just over 50 teams made it to the finish line. The winner was the Artie crew of Lee Satariano.
