Baltic Yachts Path Overview
Canova was first presented at the Monaco Boat Show in 2011. This boat was designed for an Italian owner, a long distance sailing enthusiast who had already sailed around the world in another Baltic Yachts yacht.
His new order was very specific - the boat had to have as much autonomy as possible so that water and fuel supplies would be replenished as rarely as possible. At the same time the boat had to keep the typical BY yacht low displacement and good sailing qualities.
Unlike many other BY boats, the Canova is built from regular fiberglass - carbon and kevlar are used only in places. This was done in order to have a thicker hull that resists shocks well. Despite this, the boat turned out to be around 14 tons lighter than comparable boats of other shipyards. And that's despite the fact that much of its equipment is duplicated, like on airliners. Even the navigation system has a spare set stored in a neat aluminum case.
The boat's interior is done in the classic spirit, with extensive panels made of mahogany in two different tones.
