Its owner, Prince Khaled bin Sultan of Saudi Arabia, has played an important role in the relationship between his kingdom, Europe and the United States. He is passionate about oceanography and therefore decided to design a research yacht to explore the seabed with the help of the Norwegian architectural firm Platou & Amble. Golden Odyssey is capable of a top speed of 18 knots.
