Southerly 49 Overview
The Southerly 49 was the shipyard's second attempt (the first one was already taken off the production of the Southerly 46 RS) to make a yacht that retains the qualities of a long-range cruiser (blue water cruiser) but is approaching a performance cruiser. Given the traditionally high displacement of these boats, it was not easy to do it - but partly succeeded. However, the main purpose of this yacht is not high-speed throws from marina to marina, but long (up to round the world) voyages with large non-stop passages.
The boat also has a non-stereotyped «two-storey» saloon layout, bringing it closer to the raised saloon.
