X-Yachts X-55 Overview
The X 55 was designed as a performance cruiser, however, for long distance cruising. Typically, long range boats are noticeably different from speed cruisers - the latter are noticeably lighter, while the former are built with the utmost reliability in mind and weight savings are not a priority. At creation X 55 the firm has tried to combine both qualities, thus not acting neither reliability, nor high century culture. As well as its sisters, the boat has the developed steel flora united with stepps, perceiving all twisting efforts. Savings on weight have been sought elsewhere - for example, teak pyols are made on honeycomb panels.
The result is the well-deserved Yacht of the Year award in 2007.
