The final round of the 6th Volvo Ocean Race is just around the corner

Less than 300 miles separate the winners of the Volvo Ocean Race from the finish line. Team AkzoNobel is leading in the sixth stage, but you won't find it on the tracker: the AkzoNobel navigator has decided to use invisibility mode.

Interestingly, invisibility mode will be automatically turned off as soon as any of the teams is within 200 miles of the finish line. Given that AkzoNobel's closest pursuers, Scallywag, are 280 miles away, we can assume that we will see the blue and purple boat again very soon. Scallywag and Turn The Tide on Plastic go nose to nose 10 miles apart.

The top three are now in a zone of weak winds to the north of the New Zealand coast, due to which the following Dongfeng and MAPFRE managed to shorten the distance to them. Obviously, the race will continue to get closer, so the final in Auckland is not without intrigue.

The leaders are predicted to have less than 24 hours to finish, so we will know the name of the winner of the 6th round of the world tour which started on February 7 in Hong Kong tomorrow.
