Tough luck.

Skipper Charles Codrellier's Dongfeng team won the last stage of the Volvo Ocean Race and with it the whole circumnavigation. Surprisingly, this is the first and only stage won by Dongeng, and there were 11 stages in total. And all the 11 stages the team came within the first four! During the last stage, the team navigator Pascal Bidegorri made a difficult decision to separate from the rest of the fleet and go along the coast. At first Dongfeng moved to the tail of the standings, but the short-term effects of the chosen tactics did not break the team's spirit, eventually the red boat took the lead and won.
