About
History of the company
World War II had a negative impact on the Dutch economy, including the shipbuilding sector, so in 1949 some of the oldest family shipyards in the country decided to unite. De Voogt, De Vries and Van Lent formed the basis of the new Feadship brand.
The shipyard first made a name for itself internationally in 1951 at the New York show, after which Henry Ford and Malcolm Forbes commissioned Feadship to build a yacht of their own. Today, the association's divisions are headed by descendants of the founders in the fourth generation.
Production .
The shipyard's production facilities are located throughout the Netherlands, employing around 2,000 people. Feadship's workshops occupy more than 200,000 square metres and are capable of building boats of up to 130 metres in length. This allows the company to produce 5-6 superyachts per year.
The company has its own and at the same time the world's largest design bureau De Voogt. She develops exclusively superyachts, and actively uses modern CAD software at all stages of production to improve quality and reduce construction time.
Fleet
The shipyard builds transatlantic and high-speed superyachts from 40 to 110 meters in length. The company was one of the first to abandon the use of wood (in 1955) for building boats, choosing steel and aluminium, which are still used today.
The flagship of the fleet - 110-meter Anna - was built in 2018 for the billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, and the boat, along with Oceanco's Jubilee, became the largest of the launched in Holland.
Features
One of the features of Feadship yachts is their high residual value, which, along with their characteristic pedigree, determines their demand in the aftermarket. In addition to building new yachts, Feadship is also actively involved in the refitting of existing yachts, as all post-World War II yachts are still on the water.
