About
Company history
German shipyard Say was founded by an avid ship and speed lover Sven. Sven Akerman in 2006. He decided to start by designing and building productive sailing and motor yachts as well as catamarans.
Say boats differed from his competitors by their puristic design. Sven was one of the first to experiment with this style in the yachting industry.
The elegant combination of minimalism and hi-tech in a mix with good seaworthiness was appreciated by customers and the shipyard quickly became famous. In 2012 the company switched from fiberglass to carbon fiber, which made the boats even lighter and stronger. At the same time the owner of Carbo Tech, Karl Wagner, joined the team. His company is well known on the sports car market and even produces parts for Formula 1 cars.
