Of the five yachts over 100 metres in length delivered to owners in 2019, three are attributed to Russians. We tell you about the biggest boats to boast of the outgoing year.
The biggest yachts of 2019
The largest boats that have been handed over to owners in the past year
1. Flying Fox (Lürssen) - 136 м.
German Lürssen and Italian Benetti have occupied the first half of the list of the largest yachts launched in 2019. Of the 11 boats, 6 belong to these companies. Espen Oeino, the 136-metre Flying Fox, is the unqualified leader on this list. The boat is also the largest yacht available for charter this year. There are 11 cabins available to accommodate guests aboard the «chanterelles». For their relaxation, there is a two-level spa of 400 sqm and a 12-metre swimming pool. It is served by a crew of 24 people.
2. TIS (Lürssen) - 111 м.
Arriving in Monaco this year, the TIS was the largest boat to ever participate in this exhibition. But she did not stay with her owner for long: barely arrived in June, the megayacht was soon put up for sale. However, a new owner has not yet been found. It's no surprise. Even if you have interiors on board, like in Versailles and the Louvre, and a whole separate deck as an apartment for the owner, before giving up $250 million for all this magnificence, it is worth thinking hard. However, for a better thought, the TIS can be rented for $2.2 million a week rather than bought.
3. IJE (Benetti) - 108 m.
In 2019 Benetti launched three yachts over 100 meters long. IJE (aka FB 275) was completed last but was the largest of them. The lucky owner of the boat was Australian billionaire media magnate James Packer. IJE photo outside from different angles is enough. But what she looks like inside Benetti is not shown. But the open spaces of IJE are one of her business cards at least elementary at the expense of its area - as much as 1000 square meters.
4. Lana (Benetti) - 107 м.
Lana is the «eldest» of the Benetti giga sisters' yachts. The shipyard was the first to launch this boat back in December 2018. From the summer of 2019 she was to be available for charter via Imperial Yachts (couture»«charter, as company director Julia Stewart puts it). Today, however, only Flying Fox is available for yachts over 100 metres in length. It is also said that the current owner of Lana is Russian.
5. Zoza (Benetti) - 107.6 m. (according to other data, 104.8 m.)
Benetti's Giga Sister Tertiya. According to the media, it was built for private use by the owner from the Middle East. Among its features that stand out in Benetti, the ultra-modern hybrid engine system that provides a smooth ride with absolutely no vibration and noise.
6. Madsummer (Lürssen) - 95 м.
The yacht was built for Geoffrey Soffer, owner of the famous Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, and at the same time Turnberry Associates, one of the leading real estate firms in the USA. Although the boat does not reach 100 meters in length, 95 meters is still more than enough to accommodate on board as much entertainment for guests as on TIS or even Flying Fox. Here you'll find a spa, a 12-metre swimming pool, a diving centre and even a cinema and much more.
7. Lady S (Feadship) - 93 м.
Lady S is a yacht literally built around an IMAX cinema. The presence of a giant cinema on board was a must for its owner, the owner of the American football team Washington Redskins Dan Snyder. The designers had to sweat a lot, but the client's wish was fulfilled.
9th Bold (Silver Yachts) - 85 м.
Despite its relatively modest size compared to its neighbors on the list, Bold can be considered a kind of pearl. Considering it, for the last 5 years Australian Silver Yachts has built only 5 boats. Given that work on the project began in 2017, its completion can be considered a double achievement. In addition, it is the only Explorer in the top of large yachts handed over to the owner this year.
10. Dragon (Columbus) - 80 м.
This is the new flagship of a young Italian shipyard and a real long lasting one. The yacht has been little by little designed and built since 2011. The main object of pride on board is the 20-metre long living room, the slabs over which are not held by any supporting column.
11. excellence (Abeking & Rasmussen) - 79.9 м.
Excellence does not reach 80 meters only 5 cm, so this flagship of Abeking & Rasmussen can certainly be put on a par with the other 80 meters boats. The boat is distinguished by its unusual bow shape and solid glazing with a height of 3 decks. It is not only the owner, the American owner of the group of car dealerships Herb Chambers, and his guests will be lucky to see it closer - Excellence is available for charter.
