About Cantiere Valdettaro

The history of the company

The esteemed Italian shipyard Cantiere Valdettaro opened its doors in 1917 and initially focused on the production of commercial vessels. After the Second World War, the company changed direction and began to produce pleasure wooden sailing boats, which were enthusiastically received by customers. These included the famous Athena and Armelea yachts.

The company was expecting even greater success when it started to repair and restore. The company has rebuilt many legendary ships, including Williamsburg of the 34th U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower, Istranka of Yugoslav President Broz Tito, Orion of the King of Spain, etc.

Construction is no longer a priority for the company, but the team is ready to implement new projects. The yard's portfolio includes semi-custom sailing superyachts and motor boats up to 35 meters long. The vast majority of orders are for sloops.

Features

The yachts built under the Cantiere Valdettaro brand are difficult to find on sale due to their limited production. Given the reliability and high quality of the boats, there is a steady demand for them and they retain a rather high residual value. Also Cantiere Valdettaro is one of the few companies that supplies wooden masts to other manufacturers.
