Brand History

The world famous company Dixon Yacht Design was born thanks to Bill Dixon. The designer took over the studio of Angus Primrose after his death in 1980. Thanks to Bill's talent, the firm was able to retain all the partnerships it had built up over the years and gain new clients. Later the master rebranded the company and began to promote it under his own name.

Philosophy

The formula for the studio's success is based on attention to detail and a combination of modern technology and years of experience. The team manages to translate the concept into a vessel that fully meets the customer's wishes, both in form and function.

Specialization .

The company offers a fairly wide range of design and engineering services in the marine segment. The studio's portfolio includes small cruise sailing boats with Mediterranean cockpit, from which, by the way, the company started, motor flybridge and closed hull models, superyachts and other vessels.

Cooperation with shipyards

Dixon Yacht Design combines many years of collaboration with Moody, and the studio also develops serial models for Pearl, Sealine, Hudson, Azimut, Royal Denship and other shipyards. The company is known for its custom projects with Baltic Yachts, Ned Ship Group, Johnson, Southern Ocean Marine, Holland Jachtbouw.

Landmark projects

A striking example among sailing boats was the 30m Antares III. The company designed the architecture and exterior for it. The boat received a strong lightweight composite hull, reinforced with Kevlar. The model also won awards at the World Superyacht Awards and International Superyacht Society Awards in 2012.

Team

Dixon Yacht Design's team consists of talented experienced designers, architects and engineers, some of whom have worked with Bill almost from the very beginning. The company is headquartered in Swanwick, near Southampton.
