From 25 to 28 September, the famous port of Hercule, located in a secluded picturesque bay of the Principality of Monaco, will host more than a hundred luxury superyachts and almost fifty luxury tenders. All key players in the superyacht industry will be here on 160,000 square metres of space protected by a 145-metre breakwater.

It was here in 1995 that young Pierce Brosnan as James Bond fought against enemies aboard the 43-meter Manticore superyacht in the film GoldenEye«. A lot has changed since then and the 43-meter yacht is no longer the limit of luxury. This year's superyacht show in Monaco is celebrating a new record: the largest yacht exhibited is 111 metres long. We tell you what else will surprise you at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019.

Super Yachts

The Monaco Yacht Show, the largest and most influential superyacht exhibition in the world, has been held annually since 1991. This year the exhibition will feature 125 yachts from 21 to 111 meters in length and 40 luxury tenders. And for the first time in history the average length of all the boats on display will exceed 50 meters.

Visitors to MYS 2019 will see 42 brand new megayachts launched between 2018 and 2019. The 80-metre Excellence by Abeking & Rasmussen with its two-storey glazing will definitely impress the sophisticated public.

The Nobiskrug Artefact can only be compared with it - also 80 meters. The total weight of the glass used in its superstructure exceeds 58 tons. This hybrid boat, equipped with solar panels, is 30% more economical than its class neighbors.

Gross militarists will appreciate the 85-meter Explorer from SilverYachts with the appearance of the star Espen Oeino.

And fans of timeless classics will pay attention to another creation of Espen Oino - 90-meter Oceanco DreAMBoat, whose presence at the exhibition confirmed just the other day. The boat owned by Arthur M. Blank, the owner of the Atlanta Falcons American National Football League team, is the fourth largest exhibit «»in the exhibition.

The most expensive yachts on display at the show are the 82.3 metre Secret, launched by Abeking & Rasmussen Shipyard in 2013 (cost €1,000).- €119,000,000), the 85.5 m Sunrays Shipyard Oceanco 2010 (€129,900,000) and the 83 m Sun Comes the Sun from Amels 2017 (€155,000,000).

Supercars

But not only water vehicles can be seen on MYS 2019. Car Deck zone is annually full of rare, unusual and simply luxury cars.

This year there will be about thirty of them. The most beautiful racing car of the 70's Broadley T76, «black devil Mercedes-AMG»GT 63S from Brabus, legendary American masks Shelby Cobra 289 FIA and Cobra 427 are just a small part of the collection.

The British tuning studio Overfinch will make its debut on«the MYS» deck with its iconic Range Rover and Land Rover models. Titan Motorcycle will bring to Monaco retro styled motorcycles BMW R50-3, BMW K100, Honda CB350 and YamahaMT-01.

Superpyt

For several years now, the exhibition has occupied the entire port of Hercule, one of the most advanced superyacht marinas in the world. Unlike the boat show in Cannes, it has nowhere to expand. That is why the organizers do not rely on growth, but on quality: their main task is to bring together «»representatives of the yachting business and potential clients, to provide a convenient platform for negotiations and conclusion of deals.

Compared to 2017, in 2018 the number of MYS visitors has slightly decreased (by 2%). But this, according to the organizers, is even a plus: in conditions of limited space, there are no casual passers-by - only those who are really interested in buying, selling or chartering large boats and can afford it.

«When the boat show is positioned as a fun family celebration, its prestige falls," says MYS Managing Director Gaëlle Tallarida. - I think that an event aimed at very rich people should offer an experience that suits their lifestyle.

And the Monaco Yacht Show offers. Launched in 2016, The«Sapphire Experience»includes a concierge service that ensures that private visits aboard megayachts of interest are coordinated, as well as a cultural programme with visits to the best museums, restaurants and clubs for which Monaco is so famous.

This year's exhibition hours have been moved one hour ahead. MYS is now open to the public from 11:00 to 19:30. Previously the morning was dedicated to press events and business meetings to free up the rest of the time for private visits to the yachts.

Traditionally, the Monaco Yacht Show is preceded by two events. On September 24th, on the eve of the opening, a summit for superyacht owners, charter brokers and their clients is held in the building of the Yacht Club of Monaco, where the opinions of yachting experts on the construction, purchase, sale and rental of large boats can be heard.

On the same day a jury of yacht journalists from all over the world awards the best superyachts of the year. Celebrate the most eco-friendly luxury boat, the XL yacht with the best interior and exterior design and finally the best new superyacht of the year. The Superyacht Awards nominees will be announced on September 16th - of course, all these boats are worth paying attention when planning a visit to the exhibition. ItBoat magazine will announce the list.

The Monaco Yacht Show, which will be attended by Prince Albert II of Monaco, will conclude an eventful day with the opening ceremony.
