Company history

German company Schaaf, which produces boats and yachts of ultra-modern design, was founded in 2011 by Jörg Schaaf. The idea came to him while surfing in Brazil. Sitting on the beach, he sketched a sketch of his dream boat - with clean lines and a pronounced V-shaped hull, which should easily cut through the waves instead of jumping on them. A surf buddy who saw the sketch remembered it and a year later contacted Jörg, asking him to build a boat for him. He agreed and, leaving his brokerage career, went into shipbuilding. Seven months later, with the help of the famous German shipyard Laubegast, the 10 metre aluminium Tender 31 was born, which was presented at a boat show in Düsseldorf and marked the beginning of a successful series. In 2016 the futuristic yacht Schaaf 85 Custom with a huge glass area and car garage was nominated for the prestigious German Design Awards.

Shaaf boats are produced at Dresden's Laubegast shipyard.

Model range

A large part of Shaaf's portfolio are designer runabouts from 7.5 to 10 meters in length with an aluminum hull, deep V-shaped roundabouts and a stationary engine.
