The final race of the TP 52 World Championship saw two of the Super Series' most decorated teams, Azzura and Quantum Racing, face off in a fierce battle. By the last race of the regatta, Quantum Racing, with stars like Doug de Vos, Dean Barker and Terry Hutchinson, had a 3-point lead. So the fate of the championship title was decided at the last minute. Quantum proved their dominance by winning the last race, but also for Azzura, who came second and took the World Cup silver, it was the most successful stage of the series as the team moved up in the overall standings from 7th straight to 3rd place.
