The prototype HY-X flying hybrid powerboat from Swiss company Hydros made a lot of noise atthis year'sMonaco Boat Show. The creators of the powerboat call their brainchild "the first energy-efficient hybrid boat in history". They were able to reduce fuel consumption by 30% compared to traditional boats with less powerful engines. The HY-X can also fly with retractable underwater wings that lift more than a meter out of the water. When maneuvering at low speeds in a marina, the wings can be "folded in".
