A unique Russian-made catamaran powered by electric motors and solar batteries was demonstrated in St. Petersburg on May 11. The project was developed by engineers of the "National Center for Engineering Competitions and Competitions". Most components on the vessel are Russian-made: solar panels are produced by Hevel (Novocheboksarsk), batteries - by Liotech (Novosibirsk), automatics - by Valcom (St. Petersburg). The solar panels were developed at the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute and are considered the best in Russia. As early as May 19, the catamaran will set off on the 5,200-kilometer expedition "Ekovolna" from the Baltic Sea to the Caspian Sea.
