History of the Company
Dok en Scheepsbouw Woudsend is a small Dutch shipyard specialising in the construction of trawler yachts, highly autonomous boats and unlimited sailing areas. Her history began in the mid 70'
Status
The shipyard is an existing shipyard serving a wide range of yachts of all sizes and offers a wide range of construction and repair work, but in order to optimize the use of existing facilities and manpower, the management has decided to temporarily abandon the construction of new yachts.
Production
The Frislandia shipyard has five unique covered, heated dry docks, which enable it to handle vessels up to 37 m long and 2.25 m draught.
Customers here expect an individual approach, close attention to every detail and years of experience of professionals - that is the Dutch shipbuilding skills.
The company's expedition vessels are manufactured with steel hull and aluminum superstructure. In spite of rather severe appearance, interiors testify that this is not only a reliable vessel with excellent seaworthiness, but also a luxurious yacht with excellent finishing and high level of comfort. The shipyard implements not only its projects, but also builds vessels ordered by other Dutch companies. For example, for Windcat Workboats, the shipyard has built special vessels Windcat 41 to transport maintenance personnel for wind power plants located in the seas of Northern Europe. The contracts included production and refitting of a total of 17 such vessels.
