History of the company

In 2018 a new Sichterman Yachts shipyard joined the ranks of the Dutch shipbuilding industry. The shipyard was named after Albert Sichterman, a successful businessman and branch manager of the East India Shipyard. companies in Bengal in the 18th century.

The founder of the shipyard, Bart Rehe, had the idea of setting up a company for quite some time. In 2015, he visited WJH Yachtservice to study the business, which subsequently took part in the project. The future partners specialized in the production of classic sailboats, and the motor segment was a new direction for them.

«In a conversation with WJH CEO Jelle Douma, the focus shifted to developing innovative luxury motor boats and the unique opportunity we would have had if we had joined forces. Finally, these conversations have become a reality»today," says Bart.

The shipyard has already launched several hulls in its short history. The first model was handed over to the owner in May 2019. The first model was handed over to the owner in May 2019: the 18-meter aluminium yacht Inveni.

Production .

Sichterman does not yet have its own production site, but uses WJH facilities in Vorkuma. There is also a spacious workshop and an equipped quay. The Cor D. Rover team is responsible for ship design and Van Oossanen is responsible for the architecture.

Model range

The company specializes in building luxury aluminium motor yachts from 15 to 26 meters in length. These include outdoor cruising yachts, flybridge models and hardtop and indoor vessels. All boats are equipped with Fast Displacement hulls with vertical stem.

Features

Sichterman yachts have impressive timeless design and enviable performance. The Hull Vane's fixed stern wing, combined with a cleverly designed semi-displacement hull, provides a good power reserve with a relatively low fuel consumption.
