About Okean

Company history

The shipyard has been in existence since 2015. Its history began with the desire of Brazilian Nercio Fernandes, at the time a successful software distributor, to design and build a line of modern motor cruisers that would meet his vision of such boats.

These had to be seaworthy models of 50-80 feet in length, meeting the European CE B standard. Their specifications had to allow them to sail equally well in both displacement and planing mode. Models where owners and guests would feel an uninterrupted connection to the sea. Thus was born the image which was later reincarnated with the Okean 50 and later boats of the yard.

Although Fernandes is Brazilian, and planned to build yachts in his country, they were designed in Italy. Fernandez was helped in this by the Milanese designer Paolo Ferragni. At the time he met Fernandez and had already had 15 years of experience working with yacht yards and owners in Europe. Through Ferragni, HMY Yacht also joined Okean to help with marketing and production organization.

Finally, the Okean 50 made its debut at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

By 2021, only two of the original line of 4 yachts are still in production: the 50-foot and 80-foot.

Status

Production

The company owns two industrial hangars covering a total area of 10 thousand m² within the Naval Industrial Complex in Guaruja, Sao Paulo state, Brazil.

Product Range

Today the yard produces only 4 models: 3 motor yachts 15-24 m. long and a 16,5 m. long speedboat.

Features of

The first model Okean attracted with its maximally glazed superstructure. Guests were inside an aquarium where they could keep in contact with the sea but were sheltered from rain or wind.

In the future, even on the older 80-foot model, this principle was tried to be preserved as much as possible.
