Perini Navi Asahi Overview
Riela (later rechristened Asahi) was the next yacht in Perini Navi's range of 56-meter yachts after Silvana. She has a new, faster hull with a reduced displacement, as the owner intended to use her as a sailing boat. For the same purpose he chose to have the sails furling into booms and not into masts as it gives bigger mainsail and battens area and gives the sails a more aerodynamic profile. The upper deck, flying bridge and cockpit are dominated by white and teak which feels like a nautical classic. But the living areas are finished in polished stainless steel, teak and ebony. And while the formal style of the interior finishes is geometric minimalism, the staterooms and saloon do not look dull and bare. The elegant design and high performance made the yacht the winner of the Best Sailing Yacht Award 2010 and Showboats Design Awards 2010 in the category "Interior Design: Sailing Yachts".
