On 3 June Italy opened its borders to citizens of the European Union, Andorra, Monaco and the United Kingdom. For Russians, the country remains closed, but Italian authorities are actively negotiating with Russia to resume tourist flow. Judging by the rhetoric of the powers that be, if the current trend to reduce the rate of spread of COVID-19 can be maintained, we can hope for Italian holidays at least in August-September.
Yachting could be a good (and safer in a pandemic) alternative to a traditional holiday in Italy. A well-developed network of marinas allows you to choose from a variety of different destinations. You can go along the rocky, rugged coves of the Amalfi coast with its charm of small fishing villages, or enjoy the rich historical heritage and excellent beaches of the Italian Riviera; go around Sardinia with its famous emerald waters of the Costa Smeralda and original Sicily with the nearby active Stromboli volcano on a small island.
This week the fourth hull of Sanlorenzo 52Steel, Lady Lena with the improved design of the beach club, was handed over to the client in Spezia. Objectively this yacht is one of the best offers on the charter market in its size. The almost completely redeemed summer season is an eloquent testimony to this.
«We lost June completely because of the coronavirus. We had to reschedule some previously booked charters. However, the summer season 2020 is almost completely closed for the moment, with only five free days left in August," says Daniel Slugevich, co-founder and commercial director of Boutique.Yachts, a boutique broker managed by Lady Lena. "Since Lady Lena has a debut season, we have made the charter price slightly lower than the market average. Usually yachts of this class and size are estimated to be 5-10% more»expensive.
LADY LENA is the only Sanlorenzo of the popular 52Steel series with six passenger cabins and the only boat in this length with a beach club of truly gigantic dimensions - 80 m².
Unlike the other 52Steel hulls, this yacht has fully opening double doors in the central part of the stern, so that the space of the beach club and the bathing platform can be combined without eating too much. Two folding sections to starboard and starboard make the beach club area unprecedented.
The ceiling of the beach club is all-glass. Light from the pool on the main deck fills this place with almost magical serenity. The spa centre has a massage room, sauna and hammam.
The area of the securely shielded sundeck is even larger: almost 90 squares. In addition to the usual sunbeds, bar and lounge, it has a Jacuzzi for eight people (one of the most spacious among boats this size).
Lady Lena has three dining rooms, each with its own charm and purpose. The official dining room on the main deck for twelve people is suitable for social gatherings at the highest level; on the upper deck you can dine outdoors in a more informal company; and finally, if you want to hide yourself, welcome to the round table on the sundeck.
The Owner's cabin on the main deck is separated from the rest of the boat by a study room that can be used for audiences.
The interior volumes of the Lady Lena are, in fact, comparable to the volumes of the yachts of the mountainTonnage.
The presence of a lobby on the lower deck instead of the narrow, uncomfortable corridor usual for 50 metre boats illustrates this as clearly as possible. From the lobby, you can get into four guest cabins which are connected in pairs. The cabins (large with double bed and small with convertible sofa) can be combined into an apartment with living room or separated. The small cabin is equipped with a pullman berth, which allows to use it as a room for two different-sex children or for the child and his nanny.
Another VIP cabin is on the upper deck and its happy occupants can take full advantage of the lounge with cinema, bar and barbecue in just a few steps.
«The main advantage of Lady Lena among other charter yachts in the 50m segment is the volume and thoughtfulness of her exterior and interior spaces. She feels like a yacht of much larger size. The boat is ideal for family charter. In general, there are very few new superyachts on the charter market right now, so Lady Lena is a truly unique offer.
The interiors of Lady Lena will not leave indifferent an experienced and sophisticated man. There is a lot of wood jewelry work, on which the best Italian carvers worked. Cap inserts framed in brass resonate with tiger onyx used in floor decoration. Luxury floor lamps by Baldi, furniture by Angelo Cappelini - the owner did not make compromises when furnishing his «Lady». When you«step aboard her, it's easy to forget that this boat is just a charter». The longing for time spent on board this boat is perhaps her only disadvantage.
