Russian oligarch Andrey Melnichenko is selling his famous superyacht «A», writes Superyachtfan.com. He is asking €250 million or $300 million for the work of designer Philippe Starck, which is how much Melnichenko paid in 2008 for the new vessel, which was being built at the Blohm+Voss shipyard.

In 2013 the Russian oligarch's company Hamilton Yachts Limited, which formally owns the megayacht, sued the Danish paint manufacturer Akzo Nobel, demanding $100 million for substandard work on the painting of the vessel.

In case the yacht is sold, Andrey Melnichenko will not be left without a boat. His new yacht of the same name is being tested at Nobiskrug Shipyard.

Unlike his previous boat, the new megayacht «A» by Andrey Melnichenko is a sailing yacht. Its length is 142.81 meters, three masts are 90 meters high and its sail area exceeds the area of a football field. The megayacht is one of the largest private sailing yachts in the world.

The maximum speed of the largest sailing yacht in the world is 20 knots, the cruising speed is 16 knots. She has a hybrid diesel/electric propulsion unit in the engine room.

This eight-deck yacht will be able to accommodate 20 passengers. She will be served by crew of 54. Her cost is estimated at $400 million.
