The Swiss team Alinghi won the seventh round of the Extreme Sailing Series off the coast of Nice. The second place went also to Swiss team Realteam by Realstone, and the third to J. P. Morgan BAR from Great Britain.
The race was not very successful for Russians from Gazprom Team Russia - the team finished in 11th position.
The crew of Morgan Larson (Alinghi) is still in the lead in the general standings with 65 points. In second place is The Wave, Muscat (57 points) with Emirates Team New Zealand in third (49 points).
With only one Australian stage remaining in the series, it has become quite difficult for the new teams to squeeze into the lead.
