A pier was opened on the eastern shore of Lake Baikal. The newly built facility will be able to accommodate up to 200 vessels (recreational yachts, boats, cruise ships). In addition, there will be a slip for lifting by a trailer, a trestle for lifting vessels by a crane, viewing platforms and an access road in the complex «Turka».
In the future the area will be supplemented with tourist facilities. The developers plan to build a yacht club, an entertainment complex «Fishermen's Village», a sports and recreation complex, SPA-center, hotels and restaurants next to the quay. The construction of these objects will start in 2014.
On Baikal itself infrastructure for ships has not been built for over half a century. According to ITAR-TASS the construction cost was 654,55 million rubles.
