Yesterday, September 23, EMERCOM of St. Petersburg conducted a search operation. The department was looking for two missing teenage sailors.
It is reported that young people aged 13 and 15 years old were ferrying the boats from Kronstadt to St. Petersburg after a competition in a group of other children, but disappeared from communication with their coach. In the evening, at 9:30 p.m., the missing kids were reported to rescuers. Rescue team responded to the message and went in search of young athletes. The search was carried out in the dark, using the boats and helicopters.
The children were found not far from the island of Verperlud. The children were not hurt and were taken to the coastal yacht club.
How exactly the kids got lost is being found out. According to the TV channel «St. Petersburg», parents of the boys demand a detailed investigation into what happened.
