Spindrift 2 (the name is made up of two English words - spin, to spin, and drift, to drift) has just rounded Cape Horn in the race for the Jules Verne trophy. The 40-meter multihull is competing with IDEC sport for the right to set a record-breaking round-the-world sailing time. So far the record belongs to Banque Populaire V. The Spindrift 2 team reached Cape Horn faster than Banque Populaire V by 18 hours and 11 minutes.
