"Look, no foils!" as if to say British yachtsman Alex Thomson, pointing to where they might have been if it had been his racing IMOCA 60 Hugo Boss. A happy look on his face! How could he be, as in the last Vendee Globe one of the foils had fallen off , which ultimately cost Alex the victory.

At the Southampton Boat Show, Thomson christened the Oceanis 51.1 cruiser, the first in the renewed Oceanis line that will include the Oceanis 55.1 and smaller boats - Oceanis 35.1, 38.1 and 41.1. Little is known about the latter boats but there is some information about the flagship: it has retractable davits, an in-mast furling system, jib automatics, and lots of room inside with comfortable staterooms finished in aged oak.

When Thomson was asked after the circumnavigation how he would vacation, the yachtsman replied that he would go on a sailing cruise with his wife. It seems that he has already chosen a boat for a comfortable holiday.
