Derecktor Shipyards Aquila
Overview of Derecktor Shipyards Aquila
The Cakewalk is considered to be the largest vessel ever built in the United States. She was built at the Derecktor shipyard. Her owner, Charles Callagher, took over a large industrial company very early on and then created his own investment fund. The hull was designed by Azure Naval Architects. The exterior design was a masterpiece by Tim Heywood, and the interior design is indebted to Liz Dalton. This six-deck vessel is equipped with an owner's suite, four suites, and two passenger cabins. The Cakewalk is powered by twin MTU 3,306 hp engines, giving her a top speed of 17 knots.
