The «Yandex.schedules service team» has launched «Yandex.rivers» with river cruise routes in Moscow and nearby Moscow suburbs. Cruises are categorized into groups based on geography. Cruises for children, romantic cruises and unusual routes are separated into separate categories.
Only one service - rivertickets.ru cooperating with the main navigation companies of the capital is a partner of «Yandex.rivers» so far.
Each route card contains brief information on the cruise, a map of the route, a list of available ships and key features such as onboard toilets, air conditioning and audio system. A payment button redirects to the charter broker's website.
By the next season Dmitry Kryukov, head of Yandex Transportation Services Group, promises to expand the geography of «Yandex.rivers», including other regions in the service.
«You need to understand that the project is a purely experimental one - we are now looking at how it works and looking for more partners. If it goes well, by the next navigation it will spread to St. Petersburg, Kazan, and other cities, - Kryukov wrote in his post on Facebook. - But nevertheless we believe in the best, for the industry, despite the constant pressure from the authorities, is still alive and matured to electronic tickets and other signs of civilization».
