The history of the brand

John Munford Design studio started its work in 1978 in the south of Great Britain, in Bersledon. Founder John Munford trained as a designer at London College of the Furniture Industry before working for a small boat company in Chichester. There he designed various interior details for architectural firms and shipyards, as well as layouts for exhibition stands.

In 1965 Manford saw Shemara built in Italy at the shipyard. Samper & Nicholsonwhich inspired him to choose his life's work. Five years later he joined Samper & Nicholson and later Fairey Marine, which laid the foundation for his knowledge of yacht design.

For John Munford Design, every new order is a challenge. Half of success is the ability to hear the client and be ready to implement any idea: motor or sail, leisure or work, business or relaxation, classics or trends, approximate length, number of guests, gadgets, equipment, communications, swimming pools, gyms, cinemas and so on. After that, it is important to think about the number of crew members according to the client's requirements and implement the project together with the naval architect and designer.

The company designs and refits yachts. The brand's arsenal includes both motor and sailing models.

Cooperation with shipyards

The company's portfolio includes joint projects with Camper & Nicholsons, Palmer Johnson, Feadship and others.

Landmark projects

The turning point for the company was the construction of the Jessica schooner (now Adix) in 1981. She became one of the world's largest sailing yachts in the 1980s. Later on she changed her owner and underwent a refit.

In 1985 John Munford Design commissioned the restoration of the classic sailing boat Endeavour, a J. class yacht.

The company's iconic projects also include the 30m Aurora and 68m Archimedes.

The John Munford Design studio appreciates experience, openness to new things and the ability to anticipate expectations. Here reigns two comradeship, constant growth and development.
