Dutch shipyard Contest Yachts is bringing the first hull of the 17m semi-custom Contest 55CS to Düsseldorf.

The boat, designed by German design-bureau judel/vrolijk, is classified as an ocean-going boat in the Lloyd's Register. Representatives of the classification society, in particular, tested the strength of the hull of the new 55CS reinforced with carbon.

The use of carbon fiber, as well as the use of vacuum infusion method allowed making the hull stronger and at the same time lighter. Besides the structural elements of the boat became occupy less volume. The freed space allowed the designers to enlarge the guest areas.

» The boat interiors have also undergone some changes compared to the previous version of this model: the radius of rounded corners of the furniture has become even bigger, and some «luxe features, such as the coffee bar, have been added.

The highlight of the master stateroom is undoubtedly the large panoramic aft bulkhead window. When the garage door in the transom is lowered, through this window, one can enjoy truly magnificent views.

You can experience the benefits of the new bluewater cruiser from Contest yachts at the Düsseldorf show at the end of January, in hall 16.
