InGermany , the new boating year has officially begun with the start of Boot Dusseldorf. The show opened on the 18th and will run until January 26th.
Let's go back a little bit and tell you about the main event of the first day - distribution of awards «European Yacht of the Year».
It's the 11th year that the prize has been awarded in Düsseldorf. In keeping with tradition, there are several categories in which the winners are chosen.
So, the best sailing yachts:
The «family cruiser category» was won by the Beneteau Oceanis 38, a stylish boat that the shipyard transforms to suit the needs of its customers - either as a long-distance cruiser or as a weekend boat (you can read about it here).
The award for Best Performance Cruiser went to the Dehler 38. A good balance between quality, performance and price.
The Special Yachts category was won by Swiss Saphire 27 which is modern and sporty.
Among the luxury yachts the most fierce competition was probably for Contest 42 CS.
Triumphant amongst the motor yachts were:
In the class up to 25 feet the Scandinavian Nordkapp 605 Enduro won.
The prize in the class up to 35 feet went to the very practical Elan Power 30.
The Jeanneau Velasco 43, designed by master craftsman Tony Castro, won in the category up to 45 feet.
In the class above 45 feet the Beneteau MC 5 took the prize.
In the trawler category, the Dutch led as usual, and the prize went to the steel Jetten 35 AC.
