Last Monday, May 18, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen wowed the Cannes public with a party on a megayacht.

The party was dedicated to the film festival taking place these days, so the 414-foot boat Octopus «was transformed» into a Bollywood. They installed gold elephants and Buddha figurines on the decks of giant ship, arranged colored lighting in purple and placed interior items in the Indian style. Actors, musicians and businessmen were the guests of the theatrical event.

Octopus was purchased by Allen in 2003 and is one of the largest privately owned yachts in the world. The yacht has 40 cabins, two helicopter landing pads, its own music studio on board, a swimming pool, a basketball court and also a mini-submarine. Earlier this year, the megayacht was already in the news: its efforts helped discover a sunken World War II battleship.
