Feadship has delivered what it promised: a 51-metre superyacht, Promise. Promise is the first Feadship in the ice class. The custom-built research vessel is designed specifically for conquering the Earth's poles. Her first destination is the US.
Promise was first flown out of the Feadship's lockup in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands, in August. This particular moment is captured in the photo.
Details of the yacht are shrouded in mystery. The exterior styling was developed by Feadship's in-house design team Studio De Voogt with the interiors by London-based Bannenberg & Rowell. The yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines. She will have a maximum speed of 14.5 knots and a range of 4500 miles on one tank. Inside the yacht can accommodate up to 12 passengers.
