Best boats from 20 meters according to the FLIBS jury

Design & Leadership Awards - 2019 and its heroes

It is not the first time for this 38.4-meter beauty to be awarded the title of best of the best. She also holds first place in the Best New Production Yacht Design» category «at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards - 2019. Her exteriors and interiors were designed by the great Francesco Paszkowski. The superyacht is ready to receive 12 guests in five cabins. Both hull and superstructure are made of pure fibreglass. She has a top speed of 25 knots and a range of 1,100 nautical miles.

The 63-metre aluminium Utopia IV built by Rossinavi also has something to boast in terms of collecting awards. The only recognition among boats from 40 m and above in the World Superyacht Awards - 2019 is worth it. «Utopia» is light, fast and powerful. With a propulsion system based on four MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines and the same number of water jets, it is worth nothing to gain 33 knots. The interior can accommodate up to 12 guests with six cabins. The coolest place on board after the owner's master suite with a six meter balcony and floor-to-ceiling glass windows is the large 70 sqm beach club.

Unlike the first two heroines, the 85-metre O'Ptasia with its steel case and aluminium superstructure has so far only been an award nominee, not a winner. As the flagship of the Greek shipyard Golden Yachts, it is designed to please the spaciousness and comfort. The same number of guests - 12 people - will enjoy the pool and Jacuzzi, the spa and massage room, the gym and the open bar ... As they say, 33 pleasures!

A member of the 96-foot Southern Wind (SW96) range of racing cruisers from South Africa, the 31.4-meter Seatius beckons with even one look. You are even more fascinated by it when you get inside. This is understandable: it is no coincidence that the Boat International Design and Innovation Awards - 2019 jury named the Seatius interiors the most beautiful in the sailing boat category. Eight guests will be very cozy here. The hull is a carbon-epoxy sandwich, and the power comes from a Steyr SE236E40 diesel engine. Separate mention should be made of the two rudder pens, and the lifting keel at the same time.

Royal Huisman Aquarius - 56 meters of pure pleasure. She fell in love with the boat and the impartial jury gave her two awards at once. On board «Aquarius», as the name of the boat is translated, there is a feeling that the past meets the future. It is so, because behind the hull in retro style, designed by Dykstra Naval Architects, hides the most modern filling. The Aquarius is capable of developing 16 knots under sails (arms like Kech) and 14 knots on MTU 8V 2000 M72 engines. With a range of 10 knots, the Aquarius can sail up to 4,000 nautical miles. The two-level master suite, which occupies the entire aft section, is perhaps the most important thing to know about the layout.

The timeless image of the 39m G2, built in 2009 by Vitters Shipyard, impressed the judges of the award. Having survived a nine-month total refit in 2018 at Pendennis Shipyard and ceased to be called Cinderella IV, the boat acquired a much-needed novelty without abandoning its original «self». One of the main features of the G2 is a huge hatch in the ceiling combined with the saloon wheelhouse.
