12 shiny new megayachts Monaco Yacht Show 2019
Share on social media

This year's Monaco Yacht Show will present us with 42 world premieres, a total of more than a hundred superyachts will visit the port of Hercule on 25-28 September, but only 12 of them are included in our selection of megayacht novelties MYS 2019. We present a short list of the latest creations of the superyacht industry from 50 meters in length.

Riva Race

Length: 50 m

Booth at MYS 2019: L01, Jetee Lucciana

The list opens with the 50m Race, the first Riva megayacht, the largest boat in the 177 years of the legendary brand's history and the realization of Carlo Riva's dream. The work on this project was a baptism of fire for the new Ferretti Group Riva Superyachts division responsible for naval architecture. Its giant size did not prevent the boat from stylistically fitting into the Riva range: the designers gave it the features of classic Carlo Riva motor yachts of the 1960s and 70s. Aboard the four-deck Race there are six cabins for 12 guests, an upper deck Jacuzzi, a generously sized beach club, two tender garages and two jet skis parked «on the Fordeca». In tribute to the latest trends, the galley is located on the lower deck, with an elevator running from the galley to the sundeck for serving meals.

Baglietto Severin's

Length: 55m

Booth at MYS 2019: E11, Quai Des États-Unis

Severin's 55m was the largest boat built by Baglietto - a famous shipyard with a 165-year history - after its revival in 2012. The exterior and interior of the yacht has been designed by the stars Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini. Severin's six cabins are designed for 10 passengers, with the main deck fully dedicated to himself and his family. The yacht was immediately designed with a scope for chartering. And the boat will have something to please her guests: on the upper deck there is a multifunctional cabin transforming into a games room or massage room, tenders and many water toys are stored in the bow, while the 55 square metre beach club includes a bar, gym, steam shower and spa.

Heesen Vida

Length: 55 m

Booth at MYS 2019: QE28, Quais des Etats-Unis

The 55-metre Heesen Vida was born because Brooks Smith, a professional fisherman and winner of several prestigious tournaments, was tired of staying in hotels during the competition and suffering from the fuelling of his three sportsfishers. The pursuit of comfort has led to the Vida semi-custom master suite of 80 square metres with floor-to-ceiling windows and a full-width bathroom. In the centre of the boat, a soaring white onyx staircase passes through three decks, there is a pool with waterfall on the deck and a gym, shower and diving equipment room aft. With the MTU emission reduction system and particulate filters, Hug Vida is the first Heesen yacht to meet Tier III environmental standards.

Sanlorenzo Attila

Length: 64 m

Booth at MYS 2019: S07, Appontement Jules Soccal

The first hull of the Sanlorenzo 64Steel range and at the same time the new flagship of the Italian shipyard, the 64-meter Attila, is striking in its capacity. Five decks and 12.5 meters wide create an interior space of the size typical of boats from 80 meters in length. With her 1600 BRT, the yacht is three times the size of her younger sister's 52Steel, and bypasses the 62Steel by 400 BRT at once. The owner, a certain Argentinean industrialist, skillfully managed the huge areas: He has a 250 square metre private deck, a wine cellar with climate control for 500 bottles, and a large BBQ on the main deck right in the dining area - the designers had to work hard not to jeopardize fire safety.

Amels Aurora Borealis

Length: 67 m

Booth at MYS 2019: C23, Quai Chicane

The 67-meter Aurora Borealis is the debut of Amels Limited Edition 220 series. In creating the project, British designer Tim Heywood took the best of Amels 212, extended the decks and added some extra buns. On board is an elevator that connects all six decks, a 65 square metre swim platform, a spacious beach club with steam room, spa and gym and a garage for two eight metre tenders. Amazingly, before picking up the boat from the shipyard's docks, the owner put it up for sale for €87,500,000.

Feadship Syzygy 818

Length: 77.25 m

Booth at MYS 2019: E15, Quai Des États-Unis.

The 77.25-metre Feadship Syzygy 818 owes its strict, concise appearance to Scandinavian designer Jarkko Jämsén, and its interiors to the Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. So far all the details of the yacht have been hidden behind its steel hull and aluminium superstructure. However, the owner promises that when the boat is presented to the public in all its glory, it will «change many ideas about yacht building.

CRN Mimtee.

Length: 79 m

Booth at MYS 2019: R01, Quai Rainier 1er.

The 79-meter Mimtee is the second largest boat in CRN's history - longer, only 1 meter, only the flagship Chopi Chopi built six years ago. The exterior of the five-deck yacht was created by the Zuccon International Project studio in collaboration with the yard's design team, while the interiors were designed by Laura Sessa. For the owner and his guests there are master suites and five VIP cabins at once. A huge beach club in the style of the latest CRN creations opens from three sides, allowing you to experience a unique experience of relaxation on the water.

Columbus Yachts Dragon

Length: 79.5 m

Booth at MYS 2019: E14, Quai Des États-Unis

Despite the fact that externally the 79.5-meter Dragon is an absolute classic, its creation would be impossible without ultramodern developments. A striking example of this is the 20-metre long living room without supporting structures in the form of columns, given that its six panoramic windows have an area of up to 10 square metres and weigh up to 2 tonnes each. In addition, a glass elevator plies through all six decks and a 7-metre swimming pool with Jacuzzi and waterfall is set up on the Sundeck. On the owner's deck, in addition to the master suite with 180 degree panoramic views, there is an office, living room, balcony and even a private sauna.

Abeking & Rasmussen Excellence

Length: 80 m

Booth at MYS 2019: R04, Quai Rainier 1er

The extraordinary exterior of the 80-metre Excellence is the work of designers from the British studio Winch Design. The boat is distinguished by its pointed bow with a reverse stem and continuous mirrored glazing passing through the two upper decks at once, with the length of the panels used reaching a stunning 6 meters. Thanks to the curved shape of the glass, floor to ceiling windows literally envelop the master suite, offering a stunning 180 degree view. There are six more cabins, a large pool on the main deck, a Jacuzzi, a beach club and a garage with lemon tenders.

Silver Yachts Bold

Length: 85 m

Stand at MYS 2019: D03, Quai Rainier III

The all-aluminum 85-metre Explorer Bold (formerly known as the Silver Loft project) was developed in collaboration with renowned Espen Oino. Conceived as a «fast research vessel with superyacht level finish, she»has interiors from Andreas Hölnburger of Vain Interiors and an impressive maximum of 24 knots. On the main deck with hinged bulwarks, a helicopter up to 13 metres long can be landed and an arsenal of water toys and tenders can be accommodated. Particularly proud of the boat is the 300 square metre Skylounge with floor to ceiling glazing of 3.75 metres.

Oceanco DreAMBoat

Length: 90 m

Booth at MYS 2019: D01, Quai Rainier III

The main intrigue associated with the appearance of 90-meter DreAMBoat at the exhibition is its interiors. The exterior design by Espen Oino could be enjoyed at least by photos, but even the interior renditions created by Terence Disdale have not been published yet. DreAMBoat, owned by Arthur M. Blank, owner of the NFL Atlanta Falcons team, is the fourth largest «exhibit» at the show. With a gross tonne capacity of 2,950 gross tonnes, it can comfortably accommodate 23 guests, as well as up to 33 crew members. There was enough room for a helicopter hangar, two Jacuzzis, and an open-air cinema.

Lürssen TIS

Length: 111 m

Booth at MYS 2019: R03, Quai Rainier 1er

The 111-metre TIS will be the largest yacht in the history of the Monaco Yacht Show and will take over the title, with a 1-metre advantage, from Oceanco Jubilee, who came to Hercule port in 2017. The graceful exterior and interiors with a royal scale are the result of the work of the Winch Design studio. The boat with a gross tonnage of 4,558 BRT has nine luxurious cabins, a 12-metre swimming pool, two helipads and a garage that accommodates a couple of 10 and a couple of 13-metre tenders plus a submarine.
